Back from winthrop last 2 days hunt
« on: September 25, 2010, 08:19:51 PM »
Well took my 14 year old son over to winthrop for his 1st bow hunt.Saw 20 deer 1st day.one nice 4pt we pushed onto private land and 6 bucks total. He got a shot off on a morphidite spike. He had 2 spikes on one side and 2 spikes on the other. Then next to one side it had 2 more short 2-3 in spikes coming out.Kinda cool deer. Anyway he shot under at 40yrds up hill. He had fun anyway. It took me 15min to figure out if he was legal or not.Next day we stalked the 4pt for almost 2 hours but he gave us the slip.Saw one other nice 3pt way down in the canyon. Caught alot of fish at Davis LK. on thursday too. All and all a good 2 days not at work!!!!!!!!

Sounds like you had fun. I saw a funky buck over in Twisp, a 3x2x2. I was within 40 yards of it when someone else spotted it and spooked it away :bash: :bash: :bash:. Maybe same genetics?

It's good to hear you had fun with your son, just getting out together is the most important thing. I just got back last weekend from winthrop after a week of hunting over there and I to saw a 1x2 with a seperate horn coming out on the spike side, it was really wierd looking.
To God alone be the Glory!!
